A boy and his wagon

Digging through my archives I came across this image from my half day family documentary photo session for Alyssa Rogers in 2018 and remembered that I had originally made it a black and white image but as I looked at it more, I realized that it was better suited in color.

It was in autumn and got to thinking about how to invoke that timeless look of being in the country in fall doing chores and at the same time, create that sense of innocence that a simple life in the country can create.

The stroller in the photo was for his younger sibling who had recently been born and now that it’s 2022, things I”m sure have changed quite a bit for the family.

It’s these kinds of quiet moments captured in an undirected and authentic way that become a lasting legacy of family images cherished for future generations.
