Project Specifics

100 Mile Bakery is located in Springfield, Oregon.

This story is part of a pet project that tells stories in the subjects voice of the local people, places and things that make up Lane County, Oregon. Conceived for my community visual journalism site LaneCounty360, 100 Mile Bakery is doing things right, both for the local citizens and food producers of the area as well as the planet. I was provided a glimpse into a typical morning at the bakery as well as listening to owner Leda Hermecz describe her vision and passion for having started the bakery.  100 Mile Bakery really is a hidden gem for serious locavores. My sincerest thanks to owner Leda Hermecz for indulging me when I approached her about doing this personal project.
